slip of paper was chosen. Cora tightened her grip on my hand.
It was taken out of the sphere. My throat went dry.
It was slowly unfolded. I tensed.
The name was called. My heart stopped.
It wasn't my name.
It was
"Annah Sage."
There was a half strangled cry from a girl a few feet in front of me as Annah stepped away from the crowd of girls and walked to the podium. Annah, small, timid Annah who couldn't put up a fight.
I broke away from the group and ran after her. I grabbed her wrist. "Stop!" I yelled, shielding her from the advancing Peacekeepers. "I volunteer! I volunteer as a tribute!"

The District Plaza was a long walk away, but no longer than the walk to the forest hideout. I could make it.
Indana tapped me on the arm. "Maia, are you going to be chosen?" she asked innocently.
Don't cry. I told myself. Don't cry. "I don

I was on my way to my favorite place. The calmest area I know, the forest on the top west corner of North Dakota. Or what used to be North Dakota, as I am told. Long ago before the greatest disaster I have ever heard of. My best friend Annah's dad called it the Apocalypse. It is now a remote area between my home and my other friend Leana's home. The forest between District 7 and District 5 in the wonderful world of Panem.
With my backpack on my back and my sword in my hand, I felt at home as I stopped at my hideout. I sliced a bunch of limbs off some trees for firewood. Despite the thinness of my blade, the metal slid through the bark.

"Why should we believe you?" a girl with red hair said at the end.
"How else would we know all of this about you?" one of the people said angrily.
"And what if we try to...... um... you know, leave?" tall girl with silvery blonde hair (Maximum?) said.
"Yeah, there are more of us then there are of you!"
One of the "whitecoats" hit a button ona remote and all the doors clicked.

Ours.(Parody from Annabeth's P.O.V.)
Camp activitys, breakfast and morning air
Campers' silence makes me wish they wouldn't stare
If you were here they'd laugh about our loving stares
But right now my time is theirs
Feels like the gods will always disapprove
They'll judge us like they really know me and you
And the verdict comes from those with nothing else to do
The jury's out, my choice is you
So don't you worry your wise little mind
Hera throws rocks at heros who shine
And she makes love work hard
The stakes are high, the water's rough
But this love is ours
You never know what fate has up their sleeves
New surprises gonna jump out at me
